Check out this Spiderman Octopus I did up last Tuesday ...pretty fly huh?

I made it as a thank you to the Warehouse cafe.

The Laurelhurst cafe storytime Monday

It was loud at Storytime this morning. Not just loud Moms who were talking over us (whats up with that?) but also lots of customers filing in to get food.
It's a popular place. See The Laurelhurst cafe is winning at a game that at best can be a gamble under any conditions.
Food costs! If you get the best ingredients and hire a staff of pros then you have to count on people to come and buy your food or you just paid for very expensive trash.
The word is out , Laurelhurst cafe has over the top good food and they sell enough of it that it's always super fresh. Makes for some happy healthy Storytime Kiddos!
Congrats at winning a very tough game.

The fries are HOT! better wash them down with some Rootbeer hahaha! get it?

Yes i would buy $75 worth of Fries!!!!!Check it out you can get me a gift card yo! http://www.giftrocket.com/gift-card/laurelhurst-cafe-portland-2 just kidding, you should get one for yer Mommy.
live Rootbeer can't have a turkey sandwich just anywhere... she's allergic to: gluten, dairy eggs and moist amazing Gluten free bread! This is our shift lunch.

Thanks for taking pics of the Wed. Storytime at Sound Grounds. Marion Music!

The best pics show the moment but not the kiddos faces. That's very thoughtful Marion. Thank you so much for being in our lives!

We did a fine gig that ended way in the black for a change. Now we have all day to enjoy each other. Most of our favorite things to do together are free, strolling hand in hand is one of them. Today we noticed a familiar profile crossing SE Powell Blvd.It was Laurel Jones! You may remember her from that video we did in the opening of Portlandia. We ran into Laurel just in time to also run into Extremo the clown. He was out hustling window paintings and decided to stop and have a disco inferno with us.

After the dance party we walked Extremo to his truck. Yes that is Olive on the door.I'm so glad her amazing personality and cartoonishly beautiful figure is forever immortalized in VAN. This woman and I put each other through ALL the gears EVERY day and I always needed that. We are tight emotionally, spiritually, mentally and of course physically.

It's a blessing that one of my oldest friends (Extremo) gets to know my partner...HEY Where Ya'll goin???

That was great running into a couple of friends and having some fun on the street. The great part is that busy people should never be too busy to get their bootay shakin on.

I'm very grateful for a gift of perspective that I got from 14 years of clowning.

The nature of clowning eliminates most prejudices.
 I can love anyone!
I consider them all the same and all individual.
The only thing I judge people by now is simple, Helpful or not helpful.

Monday's excursion.

"Binga-binga-binga-binga EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE" thats what our biggest fan was sayin. She is the cool cat of the clan, She is often the first rock star to arrive at Storytime..
We got a lot of people but that won't stop Rootbeer from doing the balloon dance to call in customers.
After a lively storytime we went over to Pepino's for burritos. We tipped them well and made the whole crew Mexican themed animals. The manager got a scorpion! I love how much friendliness and respect they have given me over the years but I also wanted to soften them up. Y'see I would love to work there. Not just because it's fun, I'm good of it, trackable income etc. As a good clown I really need to know fluent Spanish.
I made this donkey for the flat top cook.
Then Olive amazed everyone with this sweet Flamingo!!!
The cook who received it was stoked! She agreed with it quite a bit stating "It's MY color!!!!". Looks like we accidentally matched her preferred color scheme. I hope she smiles about it all day.
I bet if they mailed this back to Mexico the postage would only be the weight of the box! This one will last about 2 weeks I don't know how long it would take to get there.

We made a nice logo together. Here is how it went down....

I drew this picture and passed it to Olive Rootbeer.

She took the ideas and translated them in her image. After a few drawings she was happy with this.
Then I took a photo of it and started monkeying with it in a photo editing program. That's how partners roll!

How could this rumpus on the bus have started? Well I will tell you

We went out on a hunter gathering mission the make a small living on the streets of the big city as troupidores.  Upon entering a bus, the driver declared that our money was no good ! she needed a spirit lift so our fare would be to entertain all with some G rated fare. "Yes Mam glad to help!". I know that her line is full of very difficult people so I was so glad to be there for her. Just another night for some clowns in the big city.
.That fella stared at him like that the entire time! um...awkward :)
The denizens of SE 82nd. were so happy to see us!
OH this is the pic i was looking for.

We sang some sweet songs, told some jokes, taught babies to shave...Y'know normal stuff. We are after all healers.  I asked wook and Sarah to join me because they are sharp, awake, not all messed up emotionally or chemically. That's perfect oxygen to earn us some daily bread and make tons of folks happy at the same time. Nice Flower Sarah.

Our Manager Madam Rootbeer was so pleased with us she got us another gig at another bus on 82nd and Powell. It was really cold while we waited for the venue to arrive.

We called ourselves "The Binz" because we were cheap and nothing we did matched.
One of our fans was so taken by seeing us that he borrowed my guitar and played it better than any of us.

OK what do we play for this captive audience?    We decided to change the format to a more eclectic offering.

He did a straight Irish murder ballad about a unicorn that drank too much, She yelled "I am real therefor i feel" through a ta mbourine over and over. I did a song about a DIY manual for replacing a water heater thermocouple that i put to music. This is exactly what we sounded like.

Soon as we got off I noticed we were still on 82nd. I was shocked. I can still see the last bus stop. WTF? tough crowd on 82nd. street? weird.I wish we would have remembered to ask for donations.
